The COVE is a state of the art 24/7 ER
Specialty veterinary hospital in Suffolk, VA (Harbour View area), offering cardiology, surgery, critical care and dentistry services by referral.
The Sterile Processing Manager is a direct team member of the surgical service who ensures that all surgical instrumentation, supplies, and hardware are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored for multiple departments within the COVE, and an element of supervisory duties.
They also test equipment before use, perform inventory checks, ensure all proper equipment and hardware is sterile and ready to use, prepare operating rooms for surgeries, and conduct biological testing of the sterilization machines.
The Sterile Processing Manager may also assist the surgery and emergency team with daily operations and contribute to the overall flow of the hospital.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with equipment, has a special interest in data collection, has an aptitude for problem solving, has medical/surgical interests, has experience with handing laparoscopic instrumentation in addition to orthopedic equipment, enjoys working both individually as well as on a team, and has great attention to details.
There is no direct animal handling involved in this position.
You must be able to lift 40lbs without assistance.
Veterinary or human sterilization experience required.
