Position
Summary:
The Packaging Manager will manage the packaging department of MZB-USA's main roasting facility, which includes setting goals and objectives for the department, as well as establishing KPIs, ensuring operational efficiencies, and partnering with product development for successful new product launches.
In addition, the person in this role must be a strong leader who can not only coach but mentor teams across the front-line as well as supervisors.
Job Duties:
o Develop and lead packaging team to drive best in class culture of excellenceo Manage department efforts across shifts and with other departments and functions; collaborate and partner with other frontline teams and managerso Establish department goals in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and employee developmento Lead in the development of processes (as they relate to the production / packaging) with the objective of producing the best product in the most efficient way, and at the lowest cost, without compromising safety or qualityo Identify cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities in support of lean production effortso Determine and write suitable standard operating procedures that will govern the production operationso Design work standards, KPIs, control charts, and systems, to aid in plant improvement o Drive continuous improvement efforts for all stages of production in partnership with Stakeholders.
o Lead in the development process of supervisors and front-line (hourly) personnelo Monitor compliance and all company standards as they relate to safety, environmental, and food safety regulatory requirementso Establish and maintain department budgeto Ensure production operations are conducted in a safe and clean working environment, complying with federal, state, and local laws and regulationso Ensure compliance of all GMP and safety standards o Collaborate with the new products development team, R&D, Quality, and Sales regarding new items and RFPs o Perform special projects and other duties as needed.
