Essential
Responsibilities:
Drives to wherever needed to fill in at any and all of our branches and department locations throughout the Hampton Roads area including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Chesapeake.
Agrees to work when called upon.
Holidays are a popular time to be available.
Must also be available to fill in for vacations, medical leaves, and other absences.
A lot of times absences are unplanned so the on-call receptionist must be prepared to work spur of the moment.
Displays a professional appearance and behavior Welcomes members to TowneBank, determines the nature of their business and directs them to the appropriate person or department Operates the department's or branch's main telephone switchboard and assists callers by transferring them to the appropriate party or taking messages from the caller Becomes familiar with TowneBank's locations, hours, telephone numbers and individuals so that routine questions can be answered with ease Types memos, correspondence, reports and other documents as needed Assists the branch or department team with a variety of day-to-day duties as requested Assists with copy projects Other duties as assigned Obeys all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Minimum Physical Requirements:
Must be able to travel to locations throughout Hampton Roads Sitting 60% of the time Walking to the teller line and to other co-workers several times daily to deliver mail and members' transactions Escorting members to other branch personnel Assisting elderly and handicapped members when entering and leaving the building Operating the copy machine several times a day Walking to check the FAX machine hourly; operating the FAX machine; adding paper and performing necessary maintenance to the machine Maintaining and organizing supplies requiring lifting (up to 10 pounds), reaching, bending and stooping Preparing and monitoring coffee for customers Environmental Conditions:
Normal business environment Receptionist area is located near the main doors which can result in a change in air temperature throughout the day Minimum Required Skills and Competencies:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
