Mission Statement:
The J-6 (C4 & Cyber) represents the Joint Warfighter in support of the command, control, communications, and computers/cyber (C4) requirements validation and capability development processes while ensuring joint interoperability. To further this effort, the J-6 promulgates guidance and provides functional expertise to the Chairman in order to shape the joint information environment. Additionally, as the Joint Staff Chief Information Officer (CIO), the J-6 provides business class Information Technology (IT) services and support to the Chairman and the entire Joint Staff. As a IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN/DATAMGT) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the IT Standards Technical Expert for the Data and Services Division to perform a variety of assignments involving the analysis of DoD, interagency, and multinational standards. Conducts technical analysis of IT Standards, develops guidance regarding IT Standards, adjudicates IT Standards, and recommends IT standardization. Promotes the use of IT standards with a goal of achieving interoperability across DoD, interagency, and multinational stakeholders. Provides constructive recommendations to improve implementation of IT Standardization. Provides guidance and recommendations on the formulation of DoD policy and the conduct of studies ensuring that decision alternatives are of the highest quality and aligned with the JADC2 requirements, the Clinger-Cohen Act (CCA), and other statutory and regulatory requirements. Responsible for preparing and staffing IT standards products. Leads the management of the Military Operations Domain as part of the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM). Leads contracted technical teams to support the adoption of NIEM across the Department in support of DoD Instruction 8320.07, Implementing the Sharing of Data, Information, and Information Technology Services in the Department of Defense. Performs technical reviews of NIEM IT implementation plans to ensure new systems comply with plans, architecture and policies. Performs systems analysis and planning for effective integration of new systems into the NIEM architecture. Analyzes new system requirements and change proposals against existing and planned information systems. Provides technical, architectural, guidance to other DSD members. Qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
1. Oversees the IT Portfolio management of data and interoperability service strategies involved in the development of IT policy initiatives and applying IT policy and planning concepts. 2. Utilizes various data exchange technologies, industry and emerging technologies in order to assess their impact on DoD and National Information Exchange Model (NIEM). 3. Manages database management systems, data stores, data marts, and data warehousing concepts, methods, technologies, and operating systems. 4. Provides project management to lead studies for data system requirements; planning and coordinating the development of data structures and submit reviews of database implementation processes and methods. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
