INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SPECIALIST

MISSION STATEMENT:
Provide Security Program Management and Operational Oversight for all Joint Staff organizations and activities in support of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joint Staff and Policy Advisement and Liaison to Combatant Command Security Programs As a INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SPECIALIST at the GS-0080-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Administers all phases of the National Industrial Security Program in support of the JSSO mission for the JS in the Pentagon, in Hampton Roads, and around the world. Provides guidance and assistance to members of the JS on all industrial security matters. Performs authoritative interpretation of industrial security regulations and directives as they pertain to JS contracts. Reviews all contracts and contract Security Classification Specifications (DD 254) for data accuracy, consistency and completeness. Serves as Joint Staff's Service Point of Contract (POC) for the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). coordinates with DMDC for program issues, establishes sites with TASS capability, oversees Trusted Agent Security Manager (TASM) registration, appoints Trusted Agents and creates policies, operating procedures, and other supporting documentation in support of service or agency specific implementation. Serves as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for the JSSO-HR security support contract. Submits/approves requests via the Contractor Verification System (CVS). Reviews all contracts and DoD Contract Security Classification Specifications (DD 254s) for accuracy and completeness. Serves as Joint Staff's primary TASM and as such performs all functions required of a TASM. Ensures security clearance levels of contractor employees are commensurate with information handled and assesses contractor facility physical acceptability for possession of classified and/or sensitive information. Reviews and verifies the facility clearance, special access eligibility and storage capability of contractors utilizing the Industrial Security Facility Database (ISFD) You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following
Qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
1. Applies a wide range of industrial security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems. 2. Administers personnel security and suitability determination processes to ensure background investigation requirements are met for contractor support. 3. Utilizes security policies, processes, and concepts to plan and carry out reviews of unit and/or contractor security programs, to analyze and evaluate reports and conditions. 4. Provides policy information to contractors and government/civilian/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and degrees of security controls Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
